Child & Youth Support
Helping Children and Young People Thrive
Every child and young person deserves to feel safe, supported, and understood. At Holistic Family Centre, we provide compassionate, evidence-based support for children, adolescents, and their families as they navigate life's challenges.
If you're concerned about your child or teenager, we're here to help.
You may have noticed that your child is:
- Withdrawing from family and friends
- Struggling with anger or emotional outbursts
- Displaying challenging behaviours at home or school
- Experiencing anxiety, depression, or overwhelming emotions
- Self-harming or expressing thoughts of hopelessness
- Having difficulties with eating or body image
- Questioning their gender or sexual identity
- Living with a diagnosed mental health condition
- Coping with chronic illness or other medical challenges
- Finding it difficult to manage everyday life
Whatever your concerns, you don't have to face them alone.
Meet Jessica
Jessica is an Accredited Mental Health Clinician with a professional background in Social Work and extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and young adults.
She has worked with young people who are difficult to engage, have disengaged from traditional clinic-based services, or are involved with Child Protection. Jessica understands that every child has a unique story and works to build trusting relationships where young people feel safe, respected, and heard.
Jessica is passionate about helping children and young people heal from trauma and overcome life's challenges. She believes that when young people feel genuinely understood, meaningful change can occur.
Jessica's Approach
Jessica practises from a humanistic, recovery-oriented framework, focusing on the whole person rather than simply treating symptoms.
She recognises that no single therapy works for everyone and tailors each treatment plan to the individual using evidence-based approaches, including:
- Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT)
- Circle of Security (Attachment-Based Therapy)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Expressive therapies including art, movement and music
- Family intervention
- Grief and loss counselling
- Trauma-informed care
Jessica has a particular interest in supporting children and young people experiencing:
- Childhood trauma
- Anxiety and depression
- Grief and loss
- Emotional regulation difficulties
- Family relationship challenges
- Gender and sexual identity exploration
- Behavioural concerns
Flexible Support That Meets You Where You Are
Jessica understands that not every young person feels comfortable attending a clinic.
Appointments are available:
- At our North Ipswich clinic
- In your home
- At school (where appropriate)
- In the community, such as a park or café
- Online via secure telehealth
Her goal is to provide support in an environment where children and young people feel safe, comfortable, and able to engage in therapy.
